Final count

So I am a few months late in posting but the 1001 days are over and I am now just updating my list. Final count:

Completed: 37 things
In process: 11 things
Deleted: 3 things
Still pending: 50 things

Okay, not the best record but at least I attempted it. It is all about the intentional living and this project helped me clarify what I care about and what a well-lived life is all about. This blog is now wrapped up. For more adventures on my life, I have created a 101 things in a 1001 days for my new magic house. That blog can be found here.

3 months have zipped by...

So I haven't been terribly diligent about posting about my 101 things. I realize I may have changed some of my goals. Next go-around, I think I will consider other criteria for the 101 to-do's.

Here is a brief update on some of the things I have done:

1) Received a manicure so am 1/2 done #11
2) I did blog consistently for a year (the first year)...I may have missed one week. Check #22
3) #26 done - switched to more reasonable rates
4) Still reading about a book a week. The last couple of months have been less but I make up for it during my slower times of the year. Here are some books I recently enjoyed:
- Bird by Bird
- A Billion Bootstraps
- Snow
- Friday Night Knitting Club
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
- Finished: Ecoholic & Last Night I Dreamed of Peace
- Currently Reading: Mere Christianity & The Only Necessary Thing
- Am taking Muhammed Yunnas's 2nd book on my trip to read
5) Creativity: Made Grass paintings, sewed an apron - both gifts for friends
6) Wrote another Fabulous Woman letter
7) Another hot stone massage was enjoyed at the Spa Ritual in early May
8) #73 - I didn't bike around the reservoir but I did run around it. I think that counts
9) Planted flowers again this spring on my balcony
10) Took a cooking class - Mexican hands on cooking - Yummo!
11) Ran a 1/2 marathon so I think I can update my running to-dos

Changes to the list:
I think #4 is impossible in my north facing apartment so I think at this point in my life, I need to delete it from this 1001 days.

I would like to remove #23 - way too unrealistic and impractical for my life. I think a better choice is to choice a new recipe each time I cook someone dinner rather than rely on the old stand bys.

I would also like to remove #49 - don't care to finish all his books.

Okay, there is a brief update. I probably have done more but that is what I get for taking 3 months between postings.

Once a month works well

As I am well into year 2 of this crazy 101 things in 1001 days, I thought I would resort to updating the list once a month. The first weekend works well. Here is a brief update for the past 4 weeks:

Read:
Q&A (Slumdog Millionaire)
Dreams From My Father
The Yaris Driving Manual

Watched from the AFI list:
Bridge Over the River Kwai

Did:
-Started my training for the 1/2 marathon
-Currently giving 9% of my salary to my retirement (still need to increase to 10%)
-Attended another Girls' Weekend at a cabin on Anchor D Ranch...well, it was girls and Dan.
- been working through some Lenten meditations on what it means to live simply and without the extras...rather than give up something, this Lent, I am seeking to enjoy what I have.
-Working on taking my lunch to work....did it 3 times last week. I think I am going to adjust the 101 item to bringing my lunch 4 times a week for 4 weeks.  There is always opportunity to meet up with friends so don't want to say no just because of a silly list.
-Am at 2030 things on my happy list

Not a really exciting month in the 101 journey...hopefully March will turn out a bit better.

one year has passed

Yeah - 365 days are done!!
I can't believe one year has already gone by for the 101 things in 1001 days project.  Here are some recent updates on my project:

Read: The World is Flat - by Thomas Friedman
The Big Book of Breakfast (yes, it is a recipe book but I am in love with it)
How to Make a Journal of Your Life
A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd
The Dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd
The End of the Alphabet by CS Richardson
Currently reading: Q & A (the book Slumdog Millionaire is based on)

Did:
- Bought my new mac laptop. I love it!!!
- Many creative things were made in December: Bags, pillows, daytimers, aprons - all for Christmas presents

- Signed up for the 1/2 marathon race in May so am running 2-3 times per week again.
- Another girls weekend is taking place in mid-February...looking forward to it
- Had my annual Christmas brunch with 22 guests... I think that brings me up to speed on having people over.
- Used two opportunities to give of my time and resources to those in need over the Christmas season

So after a year, I think I am in good shape. I have completed 19 items on the list and there are 28 items in progress.  With 635 days to go, I think I will make a good dent in the list. I may not complete but that is okay with me.
